Volunteer applications for Durham Fringe 2025 open in the Spring. In the meantime, here is a flavour of the kind of roles we will always need help with:

Welcoming visitors to Durham, helping them to find their way around and providing advice on how best to enjoy the Fringe
Working front of house in a venue, welcoming, selling tickets and merchandise, showing people to their seats and getting ready for the next show.

Helping to run the Festival Visitor/Performer Hub
If you are local – sharing your knowledge of the city
Runners can help production staff, working in and between venues
Technical staff helping to run the sound and lighting for shows
Back of house staff looking after performers and ensuring shows start and finish on time

TECH VOLUNTEERS

TECH VOLUNTEERS

Technicians are in short supply nationally, as are opportunities to train or just try out this essential aspect of our industry. We use a professional company CDB of Darlington to supply equipment and technicians across the festival but also need additional tech volunteers to support us in each venue. It's a great experience and very useful for the CV and previous volunteers have used us as a reference for employment. Sign up today!
