A 71-seat venue at the heart of the City’s cultural quarter in Fowlers Yard. In 2025 we hope to create a "festival" atmosphere in the Fowlers Yard area, with some local businesses open for Fringe-goers.

The venue has a proscenium stage (although the ceiling height is quite low!) with rows of fixed audience seating. It is traditionally a relaxed venue for the Fringe, and does have Green Room space available upstairs.

Please note that the The City Theatre does not offer disabled access; however it is suitable for anyone able to manage a few stairs at a time.

Performance space Proscenium stage with a modest wing and access to dressing rooms (upstairs) from stage right, and a very small wing/offstage area stage left. There is no crossover between the wings.
