The Music School @ Palace Green
The venue is in the oldest part of the range of buildings that form Durham University’s Music Department and is their current performance hall. The building was founded as a grammar school in 1541, during Henry VIII’s Reformation, and rebuilt in 1661 during the Bishopric of John Cosin. For us its just a stunning and atmospheric stage, an end on performance space that is well resourced for lighting and sound. It seats 60 in the main auditorium and possibly another 25 on the gallery. We will preferentially load downstairs first.

A new venue for us in 2025.

The building was founded as a grammar school in 1541, during Henry VIII’s Reformation, and rebuilt in 1661 during the Bishopric of John Cosin.

For us it's just a stunning and atmospheric venue, an end on performance space that is well resourced for lighting and sound.

It seats 60 in the main auditorium and 15 in the gallery above.

There performance space is on the ground floor and there is level access from Palace Green.
