We like to have all venues locked down before going live with performer applications but it is not always possible. In this case we have the opportunity to use Palace Green, although all the details are not yet finalised. Palace Green is an amazing opportunity to put a Durham Fringe Festival venue in a World Heritage site, the heart of Durham City. Palace Green sits between the stunning 11th century Durham Cathedral and the magnificent Durham Castle. 2023 is the 400th anniversary of the publication of Shakespeare’s first folio, one of which resides in a library on Palace Green. In celebration of this Quattro Centenary and in partnership with Durham University, it is planned that we will have a beautiful stage, in a stunning marquee on Palace Green. The final details are yet to be finalised, but if you have a Shakespeare related production that might work on Palace Green, do submit an application.
